The installation of Stoneo panels at the new Town Hall in Estepona has been key to achieving one of the most sustainable and avant-garde municipal buildings in Spain.
In this city on the Costa del Sol, the sun shines almost every day of the year, and this, together with the proximity to the sea and a salty environment, represents a significant challenge when designing a façade.
For this reason, the solution chosen for the new building was to install a latticework that provides thermal protection from direct solar radiation. Its main objective is to preserve the concept of a continuous, lightweight ‘skin’ while ensuring durability, resistance and ease of maintenance, especially considering the proximity to the sea.

Different materials were considered, and ultimately ULMA’s Stoneo panels were chosen, a material that stands out for its lightness, design freedom, durability and resistance. These panels allow for light control thanks to their varying degrees of opacity and are also highly resistant to saline environments due to their minimal water absorption.
