ULMA Handling Systems developed a customised solution for order picking with mobile robotics that enabled Cosgra to respond to a growing demand and improve efficiency in resource management.
Cosgra is a family company located in Crespiá (Girona) with more than 40 years of experience in the sector of global solutions for rotating equipment, specialising in electric motors, power transmission systems (gearboxes and drum motors) and mechanical seals.
Faced with a growing volume of orders, Cosgra was looking to improve storage management and order picking in its warehouse. They needed to optimise picking processes and warehouse organisation to reduce preparation times, minimise errors and increase productivity. The need presented to ULMA was a solution that would automate the workflow in a flexible and efficient way, adapting to the operational needs of the company.
ULMA Handling Systems’ customised solution
ULMA Handling Systems proposed a customised ‘Good to person’ solution based on the incorporation of HAI mobile robots (ACR technology). In addition, the solution also includes a box storage system for light loads, arranged in three double-bottom aisles, maximising the available space and streamlining the flow of goods.
To complete the installation, they have integrated inbound and outbound systems along with an order picking station, designed to ensure fast and accurate picking.

Cosgra has been able to significantly improve picking efficiency. Thanks to the ‘Good to Person’ model, products are automatically transported to the workstations, eliminating unnecessary operator trips and improving picking efficiency. The reduction in time and elimination of errors improved customer service.
Thanks to mobile robotics and automation, ULMA successfully responded to Cosgra’s growing demand for orders and has ensured a more efficient management of the Catalan company’s resources.
