More than 600 linear metres of a complete drainage system have been installed in the development surrounding the renovated hospital in Cantabria.
The extension and improvement works have been carried out on this benchmark hospital in Cantabria and ULMA Architectural Solutions has participated in this project, installing one of its drainage systems in the external development of the hospital. Channels of different heights and various gratings have been fitted, providing the best solution to the requirements of each area.
The system chosen is composed of the MULTIV+ 200 channel model in heights of 12 and 17 cm. As for the grating, on the one hand, class D400 approved gratings for heavy traffic zones have been fitted, in areas of regular vehicle access. On the other hand, in pedestrian areas, class C250 gratings have been installed, in full compliance with Regulations on Accessibility of Urban Spaces for pedestrian use (heal-proof, walking cane-proof). In both cases, the grating is made of ductile cast iron.
Channels in the MULTIV+ range have an optimised V-section for greater hydraulic efficiency of the system; an important feature to increase evacuation speed and minimise maintenance, making the system easier to clean. In addition, the gratings are fixed using the new Rapidlock® system developed by ULMA. This is a screwless system allowing fast, secure anchorage of the grating to the body of the channel. The system also has the possibility of being transformed into an anti-theft system, incorporating locking screws in up to 8 points per linear meter, without the need to change the channel or the gratings previously installed.
