The Lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, accompanied by the Regional Minister for Industry, Mikel Jauregi, visited the ULMA Group this morning to learn about its current situation and main future challenges. The meeting addressed key issues such as global uncertainty, the impact of geopolitics, and the opportunities arising from Europe’s reindustrialisation.
In a working session with the ULMA Group Management Council, both Pradales and Jauregi learned about the key elements shaping the development of our socio-business project. Throughout the meeting, they reviewed ULMA’s recent evolution, marked by a cycle of growth and significant investments aimed at developing new capabilities and responding to the changing needs of global markets.
The encounter also provided an opportunity to discuss the main challenges of today’s environment: geopolitical dynamics, energy costs, supply chain management, logistical tensions, and the need to attract and retain talent.
During the visit, the Lehendakari and the Minister also toured the facilities of ULMA Medical Technologies and ULMA Packaging.
At the end of the visit, Pradales emphasised the strength of ULMA’s cooperative model and positioned the Basque Country as a key player in Europe’s reindustrialisation process, aligned with initiatives such as the Clean Industrial Deal and the Industrial Acceleration Act.
The visit concluded with a shared message: strengthening cooperation between institutions and companies in order to drive a more competitive, sustainable, and socially committed industrial landscape.
