FoodLab chooses ULMA Packaging as a key partner for its production transformation

ULMA Packaging’s technological solutions, installed at Foodlab, the Italian company specialising in salmon-based products, have strengthened its leadership in the sector, enabling it to offer innovative products and more agile and personalised services.

FoodLab, founded in 2000 and based in Polesine Zibello (Italy), is dedicated to the production of salmon products, from fresh cuts to ready-to-eat specialities. The company is distinguished by its artisanal approach, the use of high-quality raw materials and a firm commitment to food safety and sustainability.

Thanks to its capacity for innovation and adaptation to the market, FoodLab has established itself as a European benchmark in salmon processing. The collaboration with ULMA Packaging has been key to driving its growth and fostering innovation, opening up new development opportunities and strengthening its competitiveness.

This collaboration dates back to 2008, when FoodLab incorporated its first ULMA machines.

New market demands

Faced with the need to optimise its production processes in order to respond to growing market demands—in terms of speed, flexibility and customisation—FoodLab was facing a strategic challenge.

With an annual processing volume of close to 5,000 tonnes of raw material and a significant expansion of its production structure, the company required advanced technological solutions that would enable it to shorten delivery times and offer highly customised services to its customers in the large-scale distribution channel.

To meet this challenge, ULMA Packaging has implemented several TFS series thermoforming machines, renowned for their robustness, operational reliability and versatility. This equipment can be adapted to different formats and production needs, which has enabled FoodLab to increase its operational flexibility and improve packaging quality.

Thanks to this technology, the company has optimised its processes and production times, ensuring more punctual deliveries and strengthening its ability to respond to market demands.
