Annaba International Airport (Algeria) will have a new Baggage Handling system developed by ULMA Handling Systems

Logistics Engineering will design, supply, install and commission the Baggage Handling systems for the new Annaba Airport Terminal (Algeria), and will also develop the SCADA system to monitor the Airport’s entire logistics process.

ULMA Handling Systems advances in its expansion strategy in the African country through a new assignment for which it will develop a comprehensive logistics system. This is the first project that Logistics Engineering will carry out in Algeria, undoubtedly leading to new projects in the country and neighbouring countries.

The solution of Baggage Handling, implemented by ULMA Handling Systems comprises a departures system consisting of eleven check-in desks, two inspection circuits and two O-shaped baggage carousels.

In addition, ULMA Handling Systems will also provide the arrivals system, which will be divided into two separate areas: The first will be used for baggage handling from domestic flights and will have an L-shaped carousel with overlapping slats and its own feed line. The other area will be used for baggage arriving on international flights and will consist of two carousels with overlapping slats, one L-shaped and the other O-shaped. Like the arrivals carousel, the departures carousels will also have their own respective feed lines.

The entire logistics process will be managed by ULMA’s own SCADA system, allowing the monitoring of the entire operation of the baggage logistics process.
